The movement
ChiRide is more than just a ride-share app — it's a movement built by the people, for the people. Every donation fuels the future of this app — your support drives us forward. We believe every ride should be a win for everyone — affordable for passengers, profitable for drivers. We're putting the power back in the hands of drivers, giving them fair pay, and offering riders a better deal. At ChiRide, every ride is a win — visit ChiRide.com and join us as we redefine urban transportation, because this is your ride, your city, your future.
Get paid for your time.
Rush-hour rides are billed by the minute, so you're paid fairly when traffic crawls — off-peak it's by the mile. Predictable pay, published cut, no shifting take rate. If you drive in Chicago, come read the terms in plain language.
Straight answers.
How does pricing work?
No crazy surge pricing — but we believe you should pay for a driver's time. Order a ride during rush hour and you're charged by the minute, so your driver is paid fairly for sitting in traffic. Even then, ChiRide comes out cheaper than Uber or Lyft. Outside rush hour, you're charged by the mile. Either way, you see the number before you book and it's locked for your ride.
What area do you cover at launch?
The 773, 708, and 312 area codes to start, including O'Hare and Midway. We'll expand as driver supply grows.
When do you launch?
We're aiming to launch in Chicago in mid-2027, opening rides neighborhood by neighborhood. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when it's your turn.
What happens during high demand?
No surge multipliers, ever — your fare never triples because it's raining. During rush hour you're billed by the minute so your driver is paid fairly for the traffic, and it still lands cheaper than Uber or Lyft. That's the whole point.
Is this really cheaper?
Not on every quiet Tuesday afternoon. But across a month of real Chicago rides — rush hour, weather, events — ChiRide comes out ahead for most riders. And you always see the number before you book.
Who's behind ChiRide?
ChiRide is built by Evn Technologies Inc. Same team, plainly stated — no mystery startup, no offshore shell.

No investors · built by the people
Why we take donations.
We're staying away from investors on purpose. No venture money means no pressure to squeeze riders or drivers to pay it back — so the vision stays what it should be: a ride that gives back, built by the people, for the people. Not another greedy corporation.
Your donations go straight toward the commercial insurance every rideshare needs to legally put cars on the road — the biggest cost standing between us and launch. The waitlist is free and always will be; chipping in just gets those first rides on the road sooner. It won't move you up the list; nothing does.
Payments are handled by Stripe. You'll get a receipt by email — no ChiRide account needed.
